What I'm Loving Lately: April 2020

Well things have taken a wild turn since the last one of these I posted. I’m sharing meaningful things, ways to help others, and frivolous things. Hoping this shines a little light on your day!

1. SUNSHINE! This is the simplest pleasure but man does this make a difference lately. Being stuck at home is hard and on a rainy day it’s at least 10x as hard. Lately I live for waking up to a beautiful sunny day. My mood is instantly better!

2. Donate - we are in the fortunate position to help others and I encourage anyone else who is able to do the same. In our local community we’ve donated to the school system to provide meals to families in need, our community hospital which had to shut down some basic operations in light of Covid, and our town’s charitable organization that allocates funds to those in need. We’ve also dropped off food and supplies to our local food pantry. Here are some ideas nationally:

- give blood with the red cross

3. Clean and purge! So far we’ve done a major garage clean out and organization and I’ve been purging items from our basement. Closets are obviously a prime target too! It feels so good and I swear my whole being feels lighter afterward.

4. Cooking! While I may come out of this with the Corona 15, I have cooked more in the last 6 weeks than I have in the last 6 years. No joke! I never made time to regularly cook full meals. It was always a hassle to me, I was always rushed and now I’ve had no choice but to slow down and cook. And, strangely, it feels great! Anastasia at the Identite Collective has some great recipes to try.

5. The fluffy stuff. Sometimes doing a little shopping (that isn’t on amazon for random school supplies) feels good. It feels normal and I’ll take a little bit of normal right now. This also can double as a Mother’s Day gift guide. Just sayin ;) Here’s what I’ve had my eye on.

6. Sweatshirt - when you feel like putting on your fancy sweatshirt at home during quarantine, this one won’t let you down.

7. I did a poll on my IG stories about shampoo recs for color treated hair and it turned out to be a hot topic! I landed on Pureology and excited to try it out.

8. These cute little planters are total mood lifters. I’d put one on my nightstand with a low maintenance plant. Blue dot planter and blue marbled planter.

9. The perfect stay-at-home bra. I love this brand but when I saw it at Target, I immediately ordered one and compared it to the original - just as good!!

10. Maybe one day we’ll wear pretty sprngy/summery tops and when we do, this one would be at the top of my list. You can also find it here and here.

11. I’m embracing the tie dye trend subtly and without too much damage to my wallet. This t shirt is also super soft!

12. This pillow would pair well with so many other fabrics. A good stripe is almost always part of my designs.

13. I ordered this blazer back when we didn’t know about Corona and it’s awesome. It’s a knock off of a more expensive jacket and you would never know!

14. Stay healthy, stay safe, and stay sane!
